ANTI-RETROVIRAL THERAPY (ART) UNIT

Services Offered:

1. Screening for HIV/TB Cases

   • We provide confidential HIV testing and screening services for early detection.
   • Tuberculosis (TB) screening is also conducted as part of our integrated approach to HIV care, given the high co-infection rate.

2. Counseling for HIV Positive Clients

   • Pre-test and post-test counseling services are offered to guide clients through the testing process and help them understand their results.
   • Ongoing psychological and emotional support is available to help clients cope with their diagnosis and treatment.

3. Management of HIV/TB Cases

   • We offer antiretroviral therapy (ART) to help suppress the virus, strengthen immunity, and improve health outcomes.
   • For clients with TB co-infection, we provide a comprehensive treatment approach following national and WHO guidelines.

4. School/Organizational Health Talks and Screening

   • Our outreach programs educate students, employees, and community members on HIV/AIDS, TB, and related health concerns.
   • Voluntary HIV screening services are offered during outreach sessions to promote early detection and treatment.

5. Early Infant Diagnosis for HIV Cases (DBS)

   • Dried Blood Spot (DBS) testing is conducted for infants born to HIV-positive mothers to enable early detection and intervention.
   • Infants diagnosed with HIV are immediately enrolled in specialized care programs to ensure effective treatment and follow-up.

6. Follow-Up Services

   • Regular monitoring of clients on ART to track progress and ensure adherence to treatment.
   • Support groups and peer counseling sessions to provide ongoing motivation and guidance.
   • Home-based care services and linkage to social support programs when necessary.
