The Pantang Hospital Medical Laboratory Department, located at the back of the Hospital Administration block, runs a 24-hour service and attends to both Psychiatry and Medical patients in line with the mission and vision of the Hospital. Laboratory services are performed by qualified professionals who are in good standing with their regulatory bodies (the Allied Health Professions Council, GAMLS, MELPWU etc.). The Laboratory is equipped with modern analyzers which ensure the quality of results.
The Laboratory contributes to the holistic management and care of patients by providing critical information needed for proper diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of patients’ condition. This is achieved through teamwork and effective collaboration with colleagues from other Departments and Units of the Hospital.
The Department has contributed to the professional training of many Medical Laboratory Professionals in Ghana. The Laboratory provides the opportunity and professional training for Medical Laboratory Scientists (House Officers and Interns), and Medical Laboratory Science (Diploma, BSc. and MLS.D) students on attachment to gain practical experience and mentorship.
